Tahel Garionread bio
Tahel Garion was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, and is currently an undergraduate student in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem expected to graduate in July 2017. Tahel is working towards a double major in business administration and Asia studies (The department of China). At the end of her second year of university, Tahel received a full scholarship to attend the Renmin University International Summer Program in Beijing, where she enrolled in classes focusing on China’s economy. She is also a United World Colleges (UWC) graduate, as she was a student at "UWC in Mostar" high school in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tahel currently works within the Asia-Pacific Department for the Foreign Trade Administration of the Israel Ministry of Economy. She is also a member of the first student-run venture fund in Israel, fresh.fund, where she takes part as a student investor. Tahel has a passion for linguistics, with Chinese being the fifth language that she has learnt, as she wishes to fully immerse herself in Chinese culture. Her Bachelor's thesis discussed the image of Mao Zedong in the Chinese avant-garde art, and in her studies in the Yenching Academy, Tahel intends to focus on China's economy and business, viewing them as an interesting reflection of cultural, historical and political changes.
