Ricarda Brosch

Ricarda Brosch graduated from the Art History Department of Freie Universität Berlin in 2015. She studied East Asian Art History as a major and China Studies as a minor and wrote her thesis on a 17th century handscroll of the Qing-dynasty artist Fan Qi 樊圻 - one of the 'Eight Masters of Jinling' (金陵八家). Besides her research on traditional Chinese landscape painting, Ricarda became involved in provenance research, studying and analyzing archival sources in order to establish former Jewish owners of art works - a major political objective of the German government. She has gained work experience in various galleries and museums of Asian Art and was awarded a scholarship to PKU in 2013 for one semester of Chinese language study. While at the Yenching Academy Ricarda enjoyed deepening her understanding of Chinese art and culture and improving her Chinese language skills.

Chen Qiqi

Chen Qiqi

Chen Qiqi graduated from Zhejiang University with a degree in English Language and Literature. In 2016 she was invited to attend the EPIIC Symposium in Boston to address the theme 'Europe in Turmoil'. Qiqi also works for the Global and Regional Cooperation Team for the United Nations Development Program in Beijing.

Chen Zhengxun graduated with a First Class degree in Economics and Business Administration and was nominated 2014 Peking University Man of the Year. Since joining the Yenching Academy, Zhengxun has busied himself with a number of his tech startups in a bid to incorporate social entrepreneurship into his academic career. His latest venture relates to the Internet of Things (IOT).

Chen Zhenxing

Chen Zhenxing studied international politics and history at Peking University, where he received an award for his undergraduate thesis on Qatar's foreign policy. His interests include the relationship between the Chinese and Islamic civilizations, and the history of Islam in China. While at the Yenching Academy, Zhenxing focused on the relationship between China and Gulf countries.

Rubén Hernandez Cordero

Rubén Hernandez Cordero

Rubén Hernandez Cordero graduated from the National Autonomous University of México where he studied central banking and credit markets in China. He also participated in a research project on Sino-Mexican trade and investment, and worked in analyzing banking business cases, project finance, and financial models.


Maya Cypris

Maya Cypris

Maya Cypris studied East Asian studies and business administration at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is particularly interested in the integration of business culture between China and the West. Fluent in both English and Hebrew, and with a strong knowledge of Chinese and Spanish, Maya is also interested in the problem of language-barriers and cultural miscommunication in negotiation and mediation. 

Declan Davis

Originally from Perth, Australia, Declan Davis studied philosophy, politics, and economics at the University of Oxford. While in the UK, he launched an international student conference focusing on LGBT leadership. Previously, Declan has also been involved with the European Access Network, an international education charity.

Maya Dorje

Maya Dorje graduated from Harvard University with a degree focusing on history, science, and global health policies, receiving high honors for her thesis on “Stories and Silences of the Aberdeen Area Infant Mortality Study.” Maya won a number of accolades for her academic work, as well as for her community contribution and service. 

Fang Xinyue (Alice)

Fang Xinyue (Alice)

Fang Xinyue (Alice) is an interdisciplinary technologist interested in human-centered design and culturally-informed innovation. She graduated from Stanford University where she worked on the use of technology in education and developed an app for long-distance learning. At the Yenching Academy, Alice conducted research on entrepreneurship and learning in Taobao Villages.
