Shubhda Gurung studied Chinese language, literature, and culture at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Shubhda took part in many youth delegations, bilateral exchanges, and cultural programs organized for young people by the governments of India and China. While at the Yenching Academy, she conducted research on the “One Belt, One Road” initiative as well as the history of Sino-Indian relations.

Keshav Kelkar received a Master’s degree from the University of British Columbia where he pursued his interests in East Asian history, political development, and policymaking. He conducted research on policy in the Asia-Pacific region, and published pieces on a range of Asian policy-related topics. At the Yenching Academy, he explored China’s evolving role as a provider of overseas development assistance in the Asia-Pacific region.

Laya Maheshwari

Laya Maheshwari is a graduate of St. Xaviers College in Mumbai and the London School of Economics. A published journalist, he was invited to attend the 2015 St. Galen's Symposium as one of 200 'Leaders of Tomorrow' and he chaired the Executive Organizing Committee for the 2016 Yenching Global Symposium at Peking University.
